Do You Really Get a Better Clean Using an Electric Toothbrush?

Do You Really Get a Better Clean Using an Electric Toothbrush?Brushing your teeth is one of the most important activities anyone can do to keep up with their dental hygiene. It's a practice that has been there for quite a while and is only getting better. By brushing your teeth, you get to clean them in a way drinking water cannot.

You scrub away at the plaque in the mouth while removing pieces of food stuck in between the teeth and reducing the mouth's acidity. However, with technology improving, so have toothbrushes. Today, we have electric toothbrushes that help people clean their teeth in the most efficient manner. These brushes come in all shapes and sizes. However, the biggest question to any consumer is do they really do a better job at cleaning?

Removing Plaque

Electric toothbrushes usually oscillate in the mouth at around 2,500 to 7,000 cycles per minute depending on the make. They are therefore in a better position to tackle gingivitis and plaque more efficiently than the normal toothbrush would. Researchers have seen them over three months, and saw that plaque on the teeth was cut down by 23 percent together with gingivitis by 12 percent which is quite impressive.

Makes Work Easier
Since electric toothbrushes do most of the work for you when brushing teeth, they are ideal for a large demographic of people. With electric toothbrushes, all you have to do is direct the bristles and it does the rest. This makes sure that people who have limited mobility because of issues such as arthritis, developmental disabilities and carpal tunnel can also enjoy the benefits of a clean, fresh mouth.

Orthodontic Appliance

It has been discovered that the electric toothbrush is quite ideal for people who have orthodontic appliances, such as braces and fillings, because it makes brushing easier without interfering with the appliances themselves to give you the smile you deserve.

Electric toothbrushes are quite effective. With the proper technique while brushing, you will find that electric toothbrushes do make a huge impact to one's oral health. If you have any questions about electric toothbrushes, you are more than welcome to speak to us!
