Should You Clean Your Toothbrush When You Clean Your House?

We all get that feeling from time to time when we are looking around our house or apartment and realize that it has simply been too long since we gave it a good, thorough cleaning.

This can come at any point in time and for any number of reasons. You have too much clutter and can’t find anything. You have the in-laws coming to visit and you don’t want to give them any more reason to criticize than they already have, or you are simply just tired of looking at the mess. But what often gets lost in the shuffle is the cleanliness of your toothbrush, what about that?

Freshness And Cleanliness Is Always Best

If you really stop to take into consideration the amount of bacteria that is actually on most toothbrushes, you may find it rather unsettling. And considering that you probably brush your teeth with cold water, chances are you are not rinsing as many germs off of it as you might think. A minute or so with the bristles in boiling water will sterilize it and make it as good as new.

Out With The Old, In With The New

Of course, whenever you get into full, beast-cleaning mode, there are always things that find their way straight to the garbage. If you have had your toothbrush for too long (as in more than three or four months) then it’s time for it to make its way to the trash can as well and for you to go buy another one.
